Ön

Isola betyder ö. Den som reser till en ö isolerar sig. Alla människor trivs inte på öar. Några stannar bara en kort tid, eftersom ön begränsar dem. För andra blir begränsningen en hjälp att stanna upp och stilla sig.

Ven ligger mitt i farleden mellan Själland och Skåne. De som färdas på havet passerar i en strid ström natt som dag. Båtarna, vågorna, strömmarna och vindarna dansar ständigt runt den lilla ön. Och mitt i denna puls av liv ligger ön stilla.

S:t Ibbs kyrka är helgad åt Jakob, i Danmark kallad Ibb, pilgrimernas eget skyddshelgon. Pilgrimen är också i ständig rörelse, ständigt på väg. Men pilgrimen inser vikten av att stanna upp en stund varje dag, att stiga åt sidan. För att orka vidare.

The island
