Welcome to Lund…

and the 10th anniversary of Pilgrimsvägen Skåne Blekinge.

The program is primarily in Swedish. If you would like to take part in the celebrations, but do not speak Swedish, please contact us! We will be happy to offer you advice on how you may get the most out of your visit. If you want to we will help you find accomodation and with questions on transportation.

Most people in Sweden speak English rather well so you will have no problems getting along!

Here are some of the things you can do:

Walk the pilgrim routes to Lund…

You may join the pilgrimages to Lund from different parts of the diocese. The walks takes place from May 16 until June 2. You find the different stages here. If you need more information please Contact Pilgrimsplats Liberiet in Lund.

Or take part in the events around the Cathedral:

Tu 28 May

Forenoon – pram pilgrimage. A short pilgrim-walk for parents with children. Start: Cathedral.

Afternoon – Ecumenical pilgrimage in Lund between Churches. Start: Cathedral.

Inauguration with opening address by former archbishop KG Hammar, Ecumenical Service, Klosterkyrkan.

Wed 29 May

8.00 – Morning mass in the Cathedral.

9.00 – Pilgrim prayer in the Cathedral – Reflection on todays text. 

Program for people working in the Church – on pilgrim and spritual growth.

12.00 – Prayer in the Cathedral.

Program for people working in the Church continues…..

Lazarus walk: Pilgrimage from Cathedral to Hospital.

17.00-22.00 Evening in stillness and prayer in the Cathedral, short pilgrimage.

Thu 30 May

8.00 – Catholic mass in the Cathedral

11.00 – High mass in the Cathedral

Program for Young leaders in the Church

Afternoon: Pilgrimage to Holy places in Lund – a walk to some of the 28 different sites in Lund where there were Churches in medieval times.  

17.00-22.00 Evening in stillness and prayer in the Cathedral, pilgrimage to Holy places continues in the evening. Compline in klosterkyrkan.

Fri 31 May

8.00 – Morning mass in the Cathedral.

9.00 – Pilgrim prayer in the Cathedral – reflection on todays text.

Program for Children.

Day-long pilgrimage in Lund: Courage to live… – Pilgrimage as a means to improve existential Health.

12.00 – Prayer in the Cathedral.

Afternoon: Program for Children continues.

17.00 – 22.00 – Evening in stillness and prayer in the Cathedral, short pilgrimage. Compline in Klosterkyrkan.

Sat 1 Jun

9.00 – Labyrinth walk at the Cathedral Square.

Program for volunteers in the Church, pilgrims and pilgrim leaders. Swedish.

12.00 – Prayer in the Cathedral

Program continues

17.00 –  Ecumenical pilgrim vigil in the Cathedral.

Sun 2 Jun

9.00 – Pilgrim prayer.

Join the pilgrims coming to Lund in different Churches and join them for the final part of the walk to the Cathedral.

11.00 – Jubilation high mass in the Cathedral. 

After the service: soup and open stage at the Cathedral square
